Baptisms, weddings and funerals
Gordon Cranstoun and Mary Alison Horne
BAPTISM
We are happy to baptise any infant, child or adult who is resident in the parish. We may also be in a position to baptise those who have other connections with us. Please contact the Office in the first instance.
Once it has been agreed that a baptism service can take place the Parish Office will guide you through the stages and help plan dates.
Before contacting us, we recommend that you first visit the Church of England’s website.
WEDDINGS & BLESSINGS
If you wish to get married in this parish, please contact the Office in the first instance.
Once it has been agreed that a wedding service can take place, the Parish Office will help you find a date and send you a wedding information pack, including a Banns form.
We also offer celebrations or blessings of same-sex relationships. We ensure that couples who come through our doors know that the love and blessing that comes from God can be part of their relationship.
Before contacting us, we recommend that you first visit the Church of England’s website.
FUNERALS
We can face the sadness and pain of death because we trust that a life well lived is precious to God.
St Mary's and Holy Trinity churches have been the venues for funerals for centuries: remembering the departed with thanksgiving, praying for comfort for the bereaved, and honouring those who have died.
If you wish to discuss a funeral, memorial service or interment of ashes, please contact the Office.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmations are arranged on an annual basis with preparations usually starting in early spring.
Those seeking confirmation should initially contact the office who will pass your query onto the Clergy team. You may also like to explore the Church of England’s website
We do all that we can to make each baptism, confirmation, wedding or funeral personal and special to all involved, to help with preparation, arrangements and administration and to bring the deeper and spiritual significance of these times to the surface.
