General Synod and why it matters

The General Synod is the national assembly of the Church of England.  It considers and approves legislation affecting the whole of the Church of England, formulates new forms of worship, debates issues of national and international importance, and approves the annual budget for the work of the Church at national level. However, some have argued that the reputational damage it has done to the image of the Church of England has been substantial in recent years.  Carolyn Graham has been a member of General Synod for several years and has had first-hand experience of the debates that have made national headlines.

Please do come to hear Carolyn talk about what should be a fascinating insight into the government of our church and why the General Synod matters.  As usual, we will begin at 10.30 to give people time to arrive, collect a cup of coffee and have a brief chat, before we begin the talk and discussion at 10.45. The meeting will finish at 12.00.
